Asha is currently a Senior Consultant Neurologist and Director of the Parkinson and Movement Disorder Program, Aster Kerala Cluster of hospitals, India. She has a career spanning nearly 30 years as Head of a Comprehensive Care Movement disorder and Professor of Neurology and as a clinician-researcher in a University Hospital, prior to assuming her current role. Her primary areas of interest are Parkinson’s Disease (PD), Atypical Parkinsonism, and Dystonia. She is one of the lead clinical researchers in the consortium of investigators exploring the genetic architecture of PD in India. She has worked in many areas including molecular imaging, deep brain stimulation, transcranial magnetic brain stimulation, and cerebello-basal ganglia interactions in PD. She is passionate about science without boundaries and equitable and inclusive participation of all stakeholders in global efforts to solve medical problems.
