Alexis Brice, MD

Trained in neurology and molecular biology, Alexis has over 25 years of successful research on the clinical aspects, molecular bases, and physiopathology of several neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson’s disease, cerebellar ataxias, spastic paraplegias, and frontotemporal dementia. His work has led to the publications of more than 700 research articles in the field of neurogenetics. As a professor of medical genetics at Sorbonne University and neurologist, he has also shown leadership as former head of the Department of Medical Genetics at the Pitié-Salpêtrière University Hospital, director of the Institute for Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Neurology, and Psychiatry at the national level, and now as the executive director of the largest Neuroscience Institute (Paris Brain Institute – ICM) in France, devoted to basic, translational, and clinical neurosciences.
