Overview:
The Global Parkinson’s Genetics Program (GP2) is a program focused on improving the understanding of the genetic architecture of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and making this knowledge globally relevant and accessible. GP2’s groundbreaking discoveries are made possible by the work of our member organizations and investigators working around the globe.
As part of this work we’ve identified an unmet need to grow our cohorts from Middle Eastern and North African countries. To address this need, we’re launching a new Request for Information (RFI).
This RFI aims to bring together academic and industry researchers located in the Middle East and North Africa region to join GP2 to expand our understanding of the genetic basis of the Parkinson’s disease (PD) spectrum in a global context.
GP2 is seeking information regarding existing or prospective research institutions or investigators in this region to aid the mission of being a globally relevant program.
Investigators and institutions that are identified through this call will be asked to join the GP2 program and contribute biosamples and/or data to the GP2 Cohort Dashboard. In support of GP2’s mission, selected investigators and institutions from the Middle East region will collaborate and openly share data, processes, and results.
Interested researchers must submit their information by February 14, 2025.
Select investigators leading relevant clinical studies and interested in contributing to the global initiative may be invited to apply for funding from the program.
