Biography
I am an academic neurologist with a special interest in the study and treatment of movement disorders. I have a research background in using functional imaging to develop markers of disease progression, especially in the context of neuro-protective/-restorative therapies in Parkinson’s and Huntington’s diseases.
More recently, I am also interested in using technology and neuromodulation, including deep brain stimulation (DBS), to improve the treatment of movement disorders. I am leading a study assessing the effects of Spinal Cord Stimulation on gait dysfunction in Parkinson’s. I also lead the tertiary DBS service and Parkinson’s Clinical Trials Unit at Imperial Academic Health Science Centre.
