Biography

Mohamed is a Cognitive Neurology and movement disorder Specialist at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. He is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He graduated from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt before moving to Germany where he completed his neurology Residency in Osnabrueck, Germany then he moved to Cleveland where he completed two fellowships in movement disorders and cognitive neurology at University Hospitals. His research interests include early detection of cognitive decline, use of different biomarkers for early diagnosis of neurodegenerative disorders and clinical trials of disease modifying therapies. He has written several peer-reviewed articles, abstracts and book chapters focusing on Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. He has also served as a reviewer for prominent medical journals focusing on movement disorders and dementia. He is a Steering Committee Member at the Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study (ADCS) which is a part of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) Division of Neuroscience’s effort to facilitate the discovery, development, and testing of new drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease and is a part of Alzheimer’s Disease Prevention Initiative as well. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the European Academy of Neurology, the Movement Disorder Society and the Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment.
