Biography
I am a tenth semester student of medicine at the national university of Colombia. I have a very high interest in neuroscience, natural sciences such as genetics, molecular biology and chemistry. Since 2021 I have been part of a research group of neuroscience focused on degenerative diseases, an internal medicine interest group focused on neurology (NEUROIMIG) and GENOSIG ( Genetic interest group of the Military university), where I gave some talks about neurology, genetics and neuroscience focused on neurodegenerative diseases. I have gained general laboratory experience by taking the class called Research group in basic techniques laboratory and animal models, where I practiced my laboratory skills by making electrophoresis, protein extraction and histological preparations of brain, kidney and blood both human and mice’s tissue. Additionally, I have completed eight programming courses, one of them focused on bioinformatics in Python for genomics and has a trainee I made the introduction to python course in GP2 covering basics python to ML for PD data. Currently I’m learning PLINK for GWAS and I plan to gain more experience in this field for research and for my future career path.
