Biography
Eliza is a neurology resident at Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbaev. Since the establishment of the Movement Disorders and Parkinson’s Disease Alliance in 2019, she has been volunteering and assisting in organizing and conducting Parkinson’s Schools for patients and their relatives, as well as training events for students and neurologists. In addition to her clinical work with patients, she has gained experience in conducting small descriptive studies, the results of which have been published in international journals.
During her time as a student, she was honored to receive the First EAN (European Academy of Neurology) Student Teaser Fellowship at the Department of Neurology, Movement Disorders group, Pitié-Salpêtrière University Hospital in Paris under the supervision of Prof. Marie Vidailhet. During this fellowship, she participated in clinical rounds where approaches to the diagnosis of complex movement disorders were discussed.
She presented online a clinical case of a patient with Wilson’s disease at the MDS-AOS 4th School for Young Neurologists, a case of a patient with orthostatic tremor during the MDS DWEP 2023, and a family case of three sisters with SCN1A alongside a team from Kyrgyzstan during the MDS-AOS 3rd video case discussion series.
In January 2024, she was selected as a trainee for the GP2 Training program in Kyrgyzstan. Additionally, she has been appointed as a co-investigator for a project titled “Genetic Epidemiology and Architecture of Parkinson’s Disease and Parkinsonian Disorders in Kyrgyzstan.”
