Biography

Daniel F. Pilco Janeta is a physician-scientist working at the Parkinson’s Disease and other Neurodegenerative Movement Disorders Research Group at IDIBAPS in Barcelona, Spain. He earned his MD from the Latin American School of Medicine and completed his residency in Medical Oncology at the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, followed by a Master’s in Translational Biomedical Research and a PhD in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Daniel has held research positions at Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology and Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on identifying the molecular mechanisms driving treatment resistance in solid tumors and leveraging this knowledge to develop precision therapies. With advanced expertise in molecular biology, translational research, and precision medicine, Daniel is committed to promoting diversity in genetics research and advancing personalized approaches to treating neurodegenerative diseases.
