Biography

Daniel F. Pilco Janeta, M.D., Ph.D., is a physician-scientist driven by an unwavering passion for translational research and precision medicine. Through competitive international scholarships, he built a career that spans Ecuador, Cuba, Spain, and the United States, gaining exposure to diverse academic environments and cutting-edge science. He earned his M.D. at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM), completed his residency in Medical Oncology at the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, and pursued doctoral training at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO). Alongside his Ph.D. in Medicine, he obtained master’s degrees in Translational Biomedical Research and Molecular Oncology, as well as advanced diplomas in Immuno-oncology and Precision Oncology. His postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School (Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute) further strengthened his expertise in molecular oncology and functional genomics.
