Christine Swanson-Fischer

Biography

Dr. Christine Swanson-Fischer is a Program Director in the Division of Neuroscience.

Among her current duties at NINDS, Dr. Swanson-Fischer manages portfolio of research grants and cooperative agreements and supports NINDS clinical data- and biomarkers-focused programs in Parkinson’s Disease (PD), including the NINDS PD Biomarkers Program (PDBP) and the public-private partnership Accelerating Medicines Partnership for PD (AMP PD).

Prior to joining NINDS, Dr. Swanson-Fischer was a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Alice Chen-Plotkin at the University of Pennsylvania in the Department of Neurology, where she studied unbiased approaches to biomarker discovery and validation in Parkinson’s disease. She completed a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she focused on neuroprotective and regenerative strategies for Parkinson’s disease in preclinical models.
