Brian Fiske, PhD

Biography

Brian joined The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) in 2004 as one of its first internal science experts, helping to shape the strategic research agenda and philosophy at the heart of the Foundation’s mission. In his current role as a Chief Scientist, Brian supports the MJFF research team of professionals in developing and stewarding a range of programs with a particular emphasis on translation and therapeutic development. Brian has been a long-time supporter and funder of genetics research in PD, working with researchers around the world to advance our understanding. Brian has degrees and training in Biology (BS/Texas A&M University) and Neuroscience (PhD/University of Virginia) with postdoctoral work performed at Columbia University. Before coming to MJFF, Brian spent several years as an editor at the scientific journal, Nature Neuroscience.
