Haşmet A. Hanağası graduated MD in 1991 and was certified as a specialist in Neurology in 1998. He worked as investigator at London Queen Square Hospital Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Unit in 1998. He has been working at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology, Unit of Neurology of Behavior and Movement Disorders since 1999. He was the president of the Turkey Alzheimer’s Association between 2018 and 2021. He is currently Professor of Neurology at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on neurodegenerative disorders, in particular Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and other Movement Disorders and Dementias. He has authored and co-authored over 200 peer review articles in international journals and books.
