Biography
I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Pelotas in 2020. I hold a Master’s degree from the Graduate Program in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, where I am currently pursuing a PhD in the same program. During my undergraduate and Master’s studies, I researched the emergence of the P element, a transposable element, in the genome of Drosophila simulans and conducted a comparative analysis with the P element found in various species of the Sophophora subgenus. For my PhD, I shifted research areas, and I am currently studying the relationship between somatic mutations, deviations in patterns of brain asymmetry, and neurodevelopmental disorder levels.
