Biography
I am currently an Associate Professor in the Movement Disorders Division at Mayo Clinic, Arizona. After completion of my training in Neurology & Movement Disorders, I wanted to pursue my career goal of being a clinician-researcher. To this end, I was awarded the prestigious S. Weir Mitchell Award from the American Academy of Neurology for meritorious basic science research. I have successful and ongoing collaborations with researchers at the Arizona State University (ASU) and have received extramural funding from the Arizona Biomedical Research Center as well as Michael J Fox Foundation Grants. Since coming to Mayo Clinic, Arizona I have been involved with the Brain and Body Donation Program in neurodegenerative disease at the Sun Health Research Institute for the past 12 years. In addition to this, I am also involved in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and direct the DBS program here at Mayo Clinic, AZ. all through my career, I have been engaged in the practice of botulinum toxin injections for my patients with dystonia.
