Biography
I’m an emerging neuroscience researcher with a postgraduate degree in Molecular Biology and Human Genetics, based in Dubai, UAE. My interdisciplinary background blends genetics, computational biology, and science communication, with a growing research focus on neurogenetics and complex neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s Disease.
My academic journey is rooted in life sciences, with a transition into neuroscience driven by her early exposure to psychological case studies and an evolving interest in brain-behavior relationships. I recently led an independent research project on the in-silico functional analysis of SNCA Gene non-coding SNPs with Parkinson’s Disease risk. This research was recognized with the Young Researcher Award at the 8th International Genetic Disorders Conference, also known as IFCC WorldLab 2024, followed by subsequent invitations for presentations across regional and international academic forums.
Joining the GP2 trainee network allows me to merge my interest in neurogenetics with my commitment to equitable research. I’m excited to learn from a global network of scientists working to advance our understanding of Parkinson’s disease genetics.
