Biography
My name is Abdoulaye.
I am neurology resident at Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar in my 2nd year . I have achieved my medical studies in 2023 while defending my thesis in Impulsive control disorders during Parkinson’s Disease. My interest in PD and movement disorders have lead me to join the Parkinson’s disease and Movement disorders Society (MDS) where i am an active member in the african section. I am also very interested in research activities. Therefore i have been part, as an investigator, of a large study called CerCO-WA (cervical cancer Omics in West African population): research project on the prevalence of HPV infection across all 14 regions of Senegal), promoted by the Pasteur Institute in Dakar, Senegal.
In addition, i am very engaged in social activities. Indeed i joined Special Olympics Senegal in my 3rd year of medical studies to assist people, particularly children, with intellectual disabilities. That allowed me to be distinguished by Special Olympics Senegal, for supporting his health program toward people with intellectual disabilities, to be the laureate of The Golisano Leadership Health Award – Edition 2023.
