Biography

I am a Senior Research Fellow and Group Leader in the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Sydney. I have skills in molecular biology and genetics/genomics, using these approaches to bridge basic and clinical research into mitochondrial diseases, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurogenetic and neurodegenerative disorders.

The emphasis of my work is to improve the diagnosis, management and treatment for patients, employing fundamental and clinical research with the view to translating findings into clinical use. I work directly with the Neurogenetics clinic at Royal North Shore Hospital, and collaborators at the Garvan Institute for Medical Research, Concord Hospital and Neuroscience Research Australia. I am a member of the Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s Collaborative Research Network.
