Biography

I am a recent Postdoctoral Fellow, and part of the first generation of GP2 PhD Fellows. I’m focused on understanding the genetic basis of Parkinson’s disease in diverse populations. My doctoral research combined genetic, clinical, and epidemiological approaches to explore anxiety and depression in people with PD, as well as potential genetic underpinnings of these traits. As both a PhD student and now a postdoc, my responsibilities included participating in (and training students for) recruitment, sample and data management, and the use of statistical and bioinformatic tools for data analysis.

My work aims to address the underrepresentation of Latino populations in neurogenetics research while contributing to building local capacity.
