Biography

I am a young neurologist from Brazil with a strong academic interest in movement disorders, neurogenetics, and neurometabolic diseases. I completed my medical degree at a public university and my neurology residency at a tertiary center, where I developed a passion for understanding the genetic and molecular underpinnings of neurological diseases. I am currently a Safra MJF Movement Disorders fellow at the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre, in the south of Brazil. My work focuses on the interface between genetic mechanisms, cellular stress responses, and clinical phenotypes in Parkinson’s disease and related disorders. I value multidisciplinary collaboration and believe that integrating clinical, molecular, and translational perspectives is essential to improving patient care and advancing global neuroscience research. Within GP2, I am particularly interested in contributing to collaborative projects exploring the genetics of hereditary Parkinson’s disease, the molecular basis of movement disorders, and the development of biomarkers that bridge research and clinical applications.
