Gulcin Benbir Senel, Professor of Neurology, currently works in Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa, Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology, Sleep and Disorders Unit, Istanbul, Turkey. She became a medical doctor in 2002 graduating from Marmara University English Faculty of Medicine. She worked as a visiting fellowship in USA Stanford University Sleep Disorders Unit, in 2005. She became a neurologist in Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa, Department of Neurology in 2008. She earned the title of Assistant Professor in Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa, Department of Neurology in 2012; the title of Associate Professor in Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa, Department of Neurology in 2015; and the title of full Professor in Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa, Department of Neurology in 2022. She worked as an executive member in the Turkish Sleep Medicine Society between the years 2014 and 2015; and she is currently working as an executive member in the Turkish Sleep Medicine Society since 2022. She was the former Head of the Sleep Medicine Study Group in Turkish Neurological Society between the years 2019-2022. She was the Associate Editor in the Journal of Turkish Sleep Medicine between the years 2014-2015, and she is the current Editor-in-Chief in the Journal of Turkish Sleep Medicine since 2022. She is the Associate Editor in the Journal of Neurology since 2021.
