Biography

Curent, I am in charge of the Molecular Biology Unit at Clinical Biology Laboratory of Douala General Hospital. I am also quality manager to the laboratory and one the coordinators of the approved treatment centre of HIV patients at this hospital. I also play the role in the the prevention of occupational infection in the laboratory with my knowledges in biosafety, biosecurity and biorisk management. Additionaly I am lecturer on Microbiology and Parasitology department of Faculty of Science of the University of Buea. My research focuses on sexually transmitted diseases, mainly HIV and her Co-morbidity. In the framework of improved HIV patients care and follow-up, my current aim findings are to develop routine viral diagnostics and early targeted treatment for these patients in Cameroon.
I developed skills in immunological and molecular detection of HIV as well as genotyping samples of humans and HIV pathogens. I studied Humans host-pathogen interaction, Human responses genes, and mechanism of pathogenesis of viruses. I work in the identification, characterization of HIV in the frame work of diversity and resistance of this virus to ARVs. I have also carried out work on the molecular diagnosis of SARS COV-2, responsible for COVID-19, and on molecular diagnosis of certain bacteria.
