Doctor in Molecular Biosciences from Universidad Andres Bello, Chile. Currently a Postdoc researcher in the Neurology department of the Northwestern University, Chicago, USA. My research focuses on the understanding of the genetic basis of complex diseases in diverse populations. During my training I acquired bioinformatic skills in order to analyze large data coming from next generation sequencing such as whole genome, exome and transcriptome, where I applied regression based predictive models with the aim to reveal novel genetic risk factors. One of my personal interests is to try to understand how genetic ancestry is contributing to the etiology of diseases, and how it will impact in precision medicine.
