Tuğçe Gül-Demirkale graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Molecular Biology and Genetics Department. Her undergraduate thesis investigated SOD1 mutations in Turkish ALS patients. She obtained her MSc from Yeditepe University, Molecular Medicine Department during which she investigated the effect of miRNA-148a expression on LDL cholesterol level. In 2024, she graduated from Koç University Neuroscience PhD Programme. Her PhD studies focused on understanding the molecular landscape of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) in Turkey. Tuğçe visited University of Lübeck, Institute of Neurogenetics as a visiting PhD student between May-December 2022 and July-October 2023. Currently, she is a post-doctoral researcher at Koç University, KUTTAM-NDAL. She aims to understand the complex genetics of PD, the contribution of risk factors, and inter- and intra-familial phenotypic variations using next-generation genome technologies.
