Janvi has a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry and is currently a research technician at Dr. Nacho Mata’s lab. They previously joined the lab as an undergraduate student and will soon be attending a PhD program at UC San Diego to study the genetics of Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. Janvi has extensive wet lab experience, with processing and submitting samples for sequencing and genotyping, as well as variant validation with the 7 main PD genes. Janvi has also previous experience working with fruit fly models, and wishes to expand their knowledge of wet lab techniques with bioinformatics.
