Dr. Keener is a board-certified neurologist and Movement Disorders specialist at UCLA and serves as the Interim Director at the VA Southwest PADRECC (Parkinson’s Disease Research Education and Clinical Center). She participates in clinical research and patient care, and is interested in interdisciplinary treatment approaches for movement disorders, including deep brain stimulation, botulinum toxin injection, and rehabilitation therapies. Dr. Keener is site PI at the Los Angeles VA for the Vet-PD Study, and collaborates with Drs. Jeff Bronstein and Beate Ritz at UCLA on the PEG (Parkinson’s Environment and Gene) Study. She is also passionate about medical education, and serves as the Program Director of the UCLA Neurology Residency Program.
