السيرة الذاتية

Karen Lizzette Velásquez Méndez is a chemist and holds a Master’s in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biomedicine, with extensive expertise in human aging and neurodegenerative diseases. She has contributed to key projects such as LARGE-PD, analyzing samples from Colombian Parkinson’s patients, and is currently a trainee in the GP2 project, focusing on the enrichment of rare variants in E3 ubiquitin ligase genes associated with early-onset Parkinson’s. Her research integrates molecular genetics, cellular aging mechanisms, and signaling pathways, with a particular focus on RNA polymerase III, aging, and senescence, highlighting her role as an associate researcher at the National University of Colombia and her commitment to cutting-edge science, as well as her deep knowledge of the biocompatibility of ceramic materials for orthopedic implants.
