Janna van Wetering, MD, PhD candidate at Amsterdam UMC in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She obtained her medical degree at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam during which she completed medical internships abroad in Porto, Bogotá and Aruba. Her current research focuses on post-mortem clinicopathological correlates in parkinsonian disorders, with the goal of translating the findings by investigating molecular processes in biofluid biomarkers in Parkinson’s disease. While she has a strong interest in fundamental research, she values maintaining a clinical perspective to ensure her work remains relevant in clinical practice.
