Shen-Yang Lim is a neurologist and professor at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he runs a busy clinical practice specializing in Parkinson’s disease and related disorders. He has been an active member of the International Parkinson & Movement Disorder Society (MDS), and is the immediate past-Secretary and Education Committee Chair of the MDS Asian-Oceanian section; and Member of the MDS Evidence-Based Medicine Committee. He is currently Chair of the Movement Disorders Council (MDC) Malaysia. Shen-Yang Lim has a strong commitment to teaching/training and has organized numerous teaching courses, and delivered and/or participated in numerous lectures and expert panels, including Plenary lectures at MDS Congresses (Toronto 2011, Dublin 2012, Nice 2019) and the World Parkinson’s Congress (Kyoto 2019). Areas of particular research interest include: Parkinson’s disease (non-motor symptoms, comorbidities, disease heterogeneity, genetics and other ethno-geographic aspects, patient-centered care, evidence-based medicine, rating scales); Parkinson-plus syndromes; and Miscellaneous/ “Orphan” movement disorders. He has published extensively in these areas in major scientific journals.
