Brian Fiske, PhD

The Michael J. Fox Foundation

Brian joined The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) in 2004. As one of its first internal science experts, Brian worked with other early staff to shape the strategic research framework and philosophy at the heart of the Foundation’s mission. In his current role as senior vice president, research programs, Brian co-manages a team of professionals who are closely linked to the Parkinson’s community in order to develop an aggressive and innovative agenda for accelerating research and drug development for Parkinson’s disease (PD). Brian currently oversees MJFF teams focused on strategies for supporting biological understanding of PD and its translation into promising new therapies. Brian earned an undergraduate degree in biology from Texas A&M University and a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Virginia. After completing postdoctoral research at Columbia University, Brian spent several years as an editor for the scientific journal, Nature Neuroscience, before bringing his broad expertise to MJFF.
